I-90 Eastbound - Shortened Workzone - Starting Week of 1/31

I-90 Eastbound Workzone Changes Week of 1/31
Overnight work to remove barriers

Next week, we will shorten the eastbound Turnpike workzone. Coming into the city, the eastbound slow lane will reopen past the David Ortiz Bridge and remain open through the Parcel 12 work site. Drivers will still see a workzone in place before the David Ortiz Bridge, for Parcel 7 construction unaffiliated with BuildP12 work. Overnight lane closures will continue for this project and other area work.

Timing: Week of 1/31

Description of Work and Local Impacts: We will be removing the fence barriers from the highway, placing cones and barrels to match the Parcel 7 workzone, and restoring the rest of the lane to general travel. The work is not expected to be loud compared to background highway noise and we will work to manage and minimize noise as much as we can.

Next Up: After the lane is re-opened, we expect to start installing steel over the Turnpike in February. This will include overnight rolling roadblocks (brief controlled slowdowns on the highway for safe overhead work). We will send dedicated outreach once a start date is finalized.
